Happenings
Pitt-Greensburg announces new four year nursing program;
applications for Fall 2017 are now being accepted. The University
of Pittsburgh at Greensburg received approval to add a bachelor’s
of science degree in nursing to the 28 majors that it offers
undergraduate students. The new four-year degree program is
affiliated with the nationally and internationally recognized
University of Pittsburgh’s School of Nursing and is accredited
through the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education
(CCNE).

The Spring 2017 Pitt-Greensburg Written/Spoken Series welcomes
author and poet Steve Henn Wednesday, April 5, at 7 p.m. in 102
Lynch Hall. Pitt-Greensburg students Matt Burch, Ali Dimoff, and
Samantha Pritts open the event, reading from their own work. A book
sale and signing follow the reading, which is FREE and open to
the public.

Melissa Marks, EdD, associate professor of Education at the
University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, was one of four Pitt faculty
members to receive the 2017 Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching
Award.

William Chess, retired chief operating officer of Ogilvy Public
Relations Worldwide, will present this year’s Dr. Bernard Cobetto
Lecture. The topic is “Public Relations, Public Policy and
Crisis Communications in a World That Relies on Social Media.”
His presentation, Thursday, April 13, at 7 p.m. in Ferguson Theater, is
FREE and open to the public.

Association (SGA) will hold its 9th annual Student vs. Faculty
Charity Kickball Game on Thursday, April 6 from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00
p.m. on the Chambers Hall Lawn. Proceeds benefit the Thinking of
